I think I've packed everything, what could I have forgotten? What else could/should I bring a part from the usual stuff.

Well I forgot:

Winter boots
Bike Stand
Clock
Calender
Bits of carpet to put on the floor to put bikes on so the bikes don't ruin the carpet that doesn't actually belong to me
Short sleeved cycling tops (I brought 1 mtb one, and 1 road one.. useless)

I did remember

Bikes x4
Tools
Shoes
Pump
Water bottles
Overshoes, winter gear, etc.
Camelbak + bladder
Helmets + armour
Sunglasses
Gloves
Maps

Spares etc. inner tubes, pads, bits of cables, sealant, etc.

As a last thought chucked in some food and a pen in case I need to write something down in one of those lecture thingys.

Where you off to?

Are you staying in halls? If so, ear plugs are good.

Candles for moody evenings, just so the birds know you can be deep and sensitive too.

Where are you going?

If you're in halls, take a door wedge so you can keep your door open and seem like a vaguely sociable human being.

Don't take too much expensive stuff until you work out how secure the halls are

What Dave & Atlaz sid - take the hack bike for the first term until you've sussed the storage options for the posh bikes.
In my day it was 'take every CD you have', but these i-pod thingys just aren't the same.

A sense of honesty, open-mindedness and willingness 🙂

I enjoyed my time at university, but I wish I could have my time again there with what I know now.

However, going to university was a big part of what made me now.

Have fun and enjoy yourself!

I went in 2000 during the petrol shortage, so missed out on a lift. Ended up going on the train with a bag of clothes, saucepan, tin of beans and a jacket spud.

Worked out well in the end as the girls in our flat took pity on me.... 😉

Get a big display box of chuppa chups and be generous to pretty girls. Soon you will get drunk girls stopping by at night as they fancy sucking some lolly. 😉

Don't forget your webcam to make some home movies. Especially of chuppa chups!
Spare old phone is always a good idea in case you lose yours
Camera
A big crate of beers and vodka and jelly etc etc
Head ache pills

Lancaster indeed RealMan. I am staying in halls, they have just been refurbished. The beds are longer than normal beds for some reason 😉 You aren't allowed door wedges, they are a fire hazard apparently. And if you are caught using one you can get fined.

Just need to do some last minute food shopping to last me for freshers week, and some booze.

also don't to involved with all the social shit most them are the tossers that weren't allowed to smoke weed at home and now think ther super cool most of the younger students have no life experience out side living under there lower middle class rock in the suburbs. you are there to get a degree remember that. After uni its unlikely you will ever see any of them again, say what you think, cause shit and lolz. have fun!!! if youre under 25 dont go, see the world and then come back,do all the drugs and stuff before uni!!!

Just enjoy it. If you can get a mini fridge in your room
go for it. Grated cheese makes everything taste better. Stick in with the domestic supervisor/ cleaner/wardens, they will help make your life easier.
I sort of became the social convener for my intake, meant I went to a lot of parties... Albeit many, many moons ago. Sigh. Halls are good, but pre trusts nurses residences were much, much better. Just trust me on this.
