+1 for the Endura GV500 insulated jacket for biking, a very warm jacket and packs down small.

Bit late, but I have one of THESE from Mountain Warehouse:

Packs down quite small and it keeps you warm after a ride.

Ethically sourced Down too apparently.

My SO bought a nano puff >10 years ago. It still does regular duty as an extra layer that packs down nicely.

I have the Alpkit version. A bigger size than my SO’s, but I think the nanopuff packs down relatively smaller and feels warmer when I’ve done a simple hand compare.

I keep wondering about buying one but as I have the Alpkit and it’s OK I resist the urge.

i have actually bought the Patagonia one on the back of this thread as it's 30% off.  I also have the Alpkit copy, the Kanyo, and having compared them side to side they are very very similar on first look.

If anyone wants the Alpkit one for a very modest second hand price let me know !

I was also thinking about the Rab Cirrus - not sure if it's the highest spec of synthetic down but saw a cirrus reviewed glowingly. Also on sale at SP.

Small only (must... Resist...) but there's a hooded version there too.

If you are willing to have grey rather than black, that Mountain Warehouse jacket is £36 this weekend with their 20% discount applied. My brother has one and he is very happy with it and it does pack down quite small
