What sort of experiences have you had when buying from Canada / Overseas? Were you done for import duty and vat on a new purchase?
I am tracking a Rocco rear shock at a very reasonable price (£168 + postage) but as always I am a bit scared with regards the extra bits that HMRC like to levy.

I've just bought a new GENUINE 8gb Ipod Nano chromatic from Hong Kong for £70 including delivery. It's in the UK and due to be delivered tomorrow or monday...
no idea if i'll have to pay any duty on it.

been stung for VAT and import duty form USA and Canada
done for VAT from Hong Kong but only on an item worth nearly £500
