I'm shedding a little tear for the departure of Ed Woodward. Hopefully they haven't got anyone competent lined up to replace him. God knows how they will get their next instant noodle partner on board now though.
I think my comment about Lingard staying was sadly partially true
Makes sense. I can't see a way that Mason Greenwood will ever play for United again. I certainly hope not, given the way it's looks at the moment.
So Lingard looks like he might well get a game
I'm off to Old Trafford on Friday night for the FA Cup match with Middlesborough, with the apparent novelty of a Pogba appearance 😀
Hopefully they haven’t got anyone competent lined up to replace him.
Then you'll be pleased to hear that it's basically his understudy who's taking over. So business as usual/more of the same
Oh joy! I eagerly await the announcement of our next new donut partner in Wisconsin
Hehe excellent.
Anyone see the 'tifos' at the old firm game? Some mates went said it looked amazing and a v intense atmosphere (plus thrashing Rangers always helps). Could argue the banner was a bit inflammatory but it is cool to see an atmosphere like that in the UK.
Can't seem to find a pic.
Why was there no Prem last weekend? Did everyone arrange to go on their holibob's?
Meanwhile in the Championship real men played against other real men without needing to sun themselves in Dubai for 48hrs, Skegness and a deckchair in the bracing wind for them lads.
Getting to the point where I can feel proud being a Forest supporter, Cooper's a breath of fresh air and doing a great job for us.
No half time pie and a pint for Binners!
Glazers out!!

Has he taken his Aldi sausage roll maker? He could be rich...
Hahahahhahahahahahahah
Should have been out of sight, the chances they missed!
Loved Howson's reaction when he scored! MOT!
Just got back home now
That was an absolute shocker!
No ****ing pies!

Right in front of the Stretford End as well! He also laid on that wonderful pass to Beckford in the FA Cup victory back in 2010 - https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=7KtArJ1voVk
#MOT #ALAW
blimey hell of an atmosphere at forest !
premier league your "aving" a laugh 🙂
usual FA Cup weekend......all the big teams get through :):):)
Leicester are getting absolutely battered here 😳
I don't post often, even less on football threads, but
BRING ON THE HUDDERSFIELD!
AFCON Final not great viewing (so far) tbh. Anyone else watching? Egypt seem to be a one man team if ever there was one, hate to fall back on such an obvious cliche. Defend, defend, defend and hope Salah can do something. No wonder they’ve had so many 0-0s.
Watching Boreham Wood clinging on to a lead against Bournemouth on ITV4. Not as good as the Forest Leicester game, but beer is helping
I’m watching the Afcon final - it’s a bit rubbish so far!
Yup pretty cagey affair as finals often are.
Yea watching the AFCON final too. Yea it's a little bit of a bore or maybe I've watched too much sport this weekend.
Just seen the Forest goals, Meeeegggggggged!!!!!! you Reds!!!!
I’ve not commented on Friday nights debacle other than commenting on the absence of pies, but..
I was with daughter number 1 at Old Trafford and when it went to penalties I turned round to get and said that in 4 decades of coming to the footy this was the first time I’ve ever watched a penalty shoot out live.
You only ever see them in the internationals or cup finals
I don’t think I’ve ever experienced an atmosphere like that in a ground. It was intense. I think it was Gareth Southgate who said the walk from the half way line to the penalty spot is the loneliest walk you’ll ever take
The pressure, with 70,000+ people baying at you must be unimaginably intense. You must have balls like water melons to calmly slot one into the bottom corner. That poor kid (Elanga) is going to wake up in cold sweats for the rest of his life about skying it into Row Z
I never ever want to watch another penalty shootout. My nerves were shredded
Or he'll go on to manage Sweden.
Fair play to Mane he absolutely spanked that last penalty into the side netting after missing one earlier. Unsaveable.
Villa Leeds game is providing fine fare for a dark Wednesday evening.
That Coutinho looks good, I bet a big club will be after him soon
Does anyone want to finish fourth?!
That Coutinho looks good, I bet a big club will be after him soon
Indeed, he was a cracking player at Liverpool, hence why he sold for £110+mill of course. Sometimes drifted out of games but mostly an absolute talent. It's no shock that Gerrard has been able to drag some of that out of him as he'll have known him well from playing together. Some players just need the right coaxing and next thing, they're on fire.
Well last night was very Spursy.
Nobody seems to want this 4th spot, do they? Least of all us. I expect Arsenal will lose to Wolves tonight just for good measure
Anyway... after watching another clueless shitshow the other night, todays question is:
Is Harry Maguire the worst buy in premier league history?
I can't see anyone else even coming close to that title
80 Million? I wouldn't give him his bus fare home. He's absolutely useless! Christ only knows what he's ever been doing wearing the captains armband. That in itself is all the comment you need about the state of things at Old Trafford
Any other nominations to rival slabhead for worst buy then?
From the top 20 most expensive:
Nicolas Pepe Lille Arsenal Aug ’19 £72M
Kepa Athletic Bilbao Chelsea Aug ’18 £71.6M
Alvaro Morata Real Madrid Chelsea Jul ’17 £70M
Tanguy Ndombele Lyon Tottenham Jul ’19 £63M
Is Harry Maguire the worst buy in premier league history?
Pogba, twice?
Alexis Sanchez has to be in the mix as does Pogba - common thread emerging?
For City Wilfried Bony and Mangala were not the best. Further back McMannaman and Fowler were pretty dire.
Forlan was right up there too if I recall.
Is Harry Maguire the worst buy in premier league history?
Andy Carroll to Liverpool didn't work out as well as planned. £30-£35M??
Until 2 months ago...Joelinton (£40m). Now he's playing in midfield, he's like a cross between Dunga and Patrick Viera 🙂 Maybe it was karma for us flogging Carroll for £35m?
He did reprise his striker role for a second on Tuesday. He had one shot that managed to hit....his own head 🙂
Any other nominations to rival slabhead for worst buy then?
A few months ago I'd have said Joelinton. If he was still being played as a striker he would be up there but has actually looked very good in central midfield (and has apparently won more tackles than any other Premier League midfielder this season) since Eddie Howe was appointed. Hard to see what possessed anyone to consider paying £80m for Maguire tho
Forlan was right up there too if I recall.
Aaaaaah.... we all loved Diego, though, bless him!
He worked his socks off and actually got loads of assists. He just couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo when in front of goal
You used to be able to buy T-Shirts outside Old Trafford with 'I SAW FORLAN SCORE!' on them 🤣
He left and went to Villareal and he was the highest score in La Liga the next season, putting 25 away. Typical!
Alexis Sanchez has to be in the mix as does Pogba – common thread emerging?
Indeed. I think we buy players by throwing darts, blindfolded, at a Panini stickers album
Someone did the maths and worked out that Sanchez cost £6.5 million per goal
Worst buy? Reading has a player called Puskas who has to one of the most misnamed players in history even Abedi Pele had something about him. Readings Puskas has no idea where the goal is. He's now on loan to Pisa - hopefully selling them.
Can't believe there's no mention of Villa v Leeds last night. An absolute classic, easily the best contest I've seen in the Prem this season.
Villa fan myself but couldn't begrudge Leeds a point, they were superb, seemed to be able to find each other in the dark with fluidity and at real pace .
We played our part too with three great goals.
Superb stuff.
Totally agree, cracking game! You have a great prospect in Ramsey, hope he keeps getting better. Really love to see club grown talent come good!
RM.
No prizes for guessing which club tops the net spend over the last decade!

Gerrard's got a gravitas about him, as managing to pull a player like Couhtinhio into Villa's orbit demonstrates. He was very humble with regards to Bielsa after the game as well.
Wether with Villa or with someone else, I think he's going to be the most successful English manager since Brian Cloigh.
I'd be happy with that 🙂
