Soft pen
That was never a penalty!
He lost control of the ball then stepped sideways into the goalie, awful decision.
Certainly don't see how you can say it was enough to overturn the original on-field decision anyway, even if it was the on-field ref who changed his mind. Took too long to look at it also.
I'd be pretty livid if I was a Palace fan TBH.
Yeah, VAR isn’t doing itself any favours about the perceived favouritism towards the big teams
That's another poor decision ruling out the Kane goal, all the promise from the first few weeks of the season about how refereeing was going to be applied has just disappeared.
You can understand that one, there was a push, Thiago silva was clever, so hard for var to overrule.
Pick that out! 😳
What a finish!
on his day he's got the best left foot!
Left foot strikes always look better!
Other than for the disallowed goal, did Kane actually touch the ball?
Kane complained for about 58 minutes about that goal, his poor wife better have good headphones 😂
non league goal of the season contender
Tinkerman shown the door @ Watford
Ranieri sacked. Big Sam time for Watford?
RM.
Mad! Next one in will be the 6th since Sept 19… You’d have thought they’d worked out that keep changing the manager is not working for them???
Woy's in, apparently, in an attempt to keep them up
Out by March then?
That goal will be on the Puskas Award shortlist.
Given that not much happens in the January transfer window they should change it to a UEFA sponsored game show of manager revolving doors.
Lampard has agreed terms with Everton.
How long do we think he'll last? I'm yet to be convinced he's deserving of the opportunities he's so far received.
Massive gamble for both. Fair to say he’s had a bit of a leg up thus far in his managerial career.
Across the park an interest signing by Liverpool - Diaz looks top class and should put a lot of pressure on Mane or replace Salah if they refuse to pay his rumoured wage demands?
I think Salah will get a contract extension, not so sure about Mane and Firmino. I think once their contracts are up they won't be worth too much and need replacing. I won't be surprised if Diaz/Jota/Salah become the go to front three.

Better managers than him have failed there. Which would suggest that the managers are not the problem.
Clearly, so he's doubly screwed
As a Newcastle fan, it's rather exciting to have a horse in the race on this transfer deadline day. Last August, the Newcastle report for Sky, Keith Downie drove to Elland Road instead as he (rightly) believed nothing was happening at the Toon. How things have changed. Loads of names still floating around for both permanent and loan deals but watch out for Bruno Guimaraes - he looks a player! Fills a position we've lacked quality in since Yohan Cabaye left 7/8 years ago.
As for Lampard... I'm not sure he's the right man to bring stability to a shaky Everton defence lacking in confidence. Despite having a wealth of quality defenders at Chelsea they were a soft touch. Didn't he keep Rudiger on the bench most the time?
Lampard has agreed terms with Everton.
Everton are doing managerial appointments by graffiti outside the ground now? Should end well.
Everton are sending out a signal that they're bottom end now, can't see Calvert-Lewin staying long with this announcement and the state of the squad, you've got to wonder why their choices for manager were an out of work Portuguese manager nobody knows, an out of work English manager who hasn't done anything and were turned down by an English manager who has about 8 months experience managing a team (Derby) that has so many issues it removes any real pressure from actual games.
The media love-in with Lampard is a strange one as he has proven nothing as a manager so far.
Took Derby from 6th to 6th, at a time when they were spending so much money very few other teams in the league could compete. Spending that could lead to them being liquidated.
Then finished lower with Chelsea than the season previous before being sacked after spending a whole load more cash. I don't buy the whole transfer embargo excuse either, the squad was still stronger than any team outside the top four and included two new players that are still getting first team games.

I saw via IG the Euro 2022 Futsal tournement is on at the moment, with no prem might be a good watch, internet suggests BBC have the rights but I cant find it scheduled or on iPlayer, anyone know where you can watch it?
The Mason Greenwood situation isn't looking good, he always seemed like the youngster at ManU who was switched on with being a young up and coming professional.
The Mason Greenwood situation is really bad. It should be career-ending
But in all honesty, it just the latest thing that adds to the atmosphere of Old Trafford as a complete circus.
It look like Lingard going to Newcastle has been scuppered by ridiculous price tag demands. He'll just go on a free in the summer instead.
Pogba looks nailed on to go on a free too.
Van De Beek going out on loan just continues the whole farcical situation with signing him in the first place to just sit on the bench. No doubt he'll be brilliant at Everton.
Phil Jones loan to Bordeaux is off too, so thats him getting paid a fortune to not play. Something Jaydon Sancho seems to be joining him in. Another 70 million quid bench warmer.
Rumours are that PSG are wooing Marcus Rashford
Honestly... I just despair. The clubs management is a complete joke and it just keeps getting worse
Futsal was on Eurosport.

On the one hand I feel sorry for Lingard and the stupid demands being made for a loan to Newcastle. On the other, he could have gone to West Ham last summer, where he had really fitted in and was looking good, but he rejected the move.
Did he reject it? Or did United refuse to sell him?
Either way, he was promised that he'd be starting games at OT again if he returned.
This just hasn't happened. It's the odd sub appearance. Apparently he's raging about being lied to, having this latest loan scuppered and the way he's been treated generally, and I don't blame him. Anyone would. And what message does it send out from the club to other players? No wonder theres a toxic atmosphere in the dressing room
the cynic in me thinks that Utd knew about Greenwood's absence in advance. Lingard has a slighter better chance of getting a game now.
Yeah, Lingard is nearly 30, he's just too far down the pecking order at ManU, you'd think after getting himself back in form, back in the England set up and being at a big London club with fans who would idolise him he'd have been happy to sign up, it was a weird one for me, even a move to Newcastle seems a downgrade to West Ham.
You can't fault him though for thinking he could give it another shot and make it at ManU, reality was Ole just didn't see him in the plans, same with Ragnick.
Man U won't loan him out to West Ham or Tottenham as they are considered a threat to their top 4 (6?) aspirations - which I get. Newcastle aren't a threat to Man U yet but if he plays well and we sign him on a free, he might come back to bite them next season. Hence the fee I think. Get what you can before his contract expires. Man U have no real incentive to loan him out. It's not like he'll go back next season, fitter and in form. He'll be off for a big last payday somewhere else.
A complex situation whichever side you are on but if I had to bet, I'd say he stays put, gets sad, fat, makes a handful of sub appearances and ends up next season at...Spurs 🙂
if he plays well and we sign him on a free, he might come back to bite them next season
Only if Newcastle draw them in the cup, otherwise he'd need some overbite to be able to nip Man Utd from the Championship
Lingard has never struck me as the sharpest tool in the box and being up against Rashford, Martial, Greenwood, Sancho, Cavani and Ronaldo for a starting place…..well, he wasn’t going to start many games was he? Can’t believe he’s 29, seems to have been touted as a promising young player for ever.
Van de beek is an odd one. Clearly a key player in a very good Ajax side but two managers now must have had a good look at him and decided he’s not up to it. Maybe he’s too attacking to play centre defensive midfield, as the competition isn’t much is it? McFred! Further forward, he’s not going dislodge Bruno is he? United signed him because they’d heard he’s a good player I expect, not with any plan of how to use him.
What has gone wrong with Dele.
United signed him because they’d heard he’s a good player I expect, not with any plan of how to use him.
If you can figure out anything resembling a ‘plan’ in any of United's signings since Fergies departure, you’ll be doing better than the rest of us.
Ed Woodward has essentially been playing Fantasy Football with real money. The trouble is that he’s worse at it than me! And that’s saying something! 😂
Henderson was meant to be going out on loan too (to Watford) but United changed their mind at the 11th hour, so that’s another pissed off player who’ll be sat on the bench for the rest of the season.
@binners - I think my comment about Lingard staying was sadly partially true
