Bent down to pick up my shoes this morning and my back went into a sciatic spasm!
Currently laid up in bed with a hot waterbottle on my spine/hip and a massive dose (600mg) of ibuprofen in me 🙁
Losing a days pay is bad enough but the sun is shining as well and i was due to go on a ride tonight 🙁

Eeeee....

600mg isn't massive - you could manage a bit more if you fancy 🙂

yeah, 400mg is normal isn't it?

If it's any consolation, it's really overcast here.

Doc has me on 1800mg/3x600mg per day for my elbows, not too sure about taking more than that at one time tbh.
Bloody sore now.

Did the same thing with my lower back three years ago, too much biking as I had another back injury and once I got back into it I just wouldn't stop.

I managed to sprain my hamsting, bent over and to the side to pick up a tool, and POP! injured my lower back, 3 months earlier I had written off my car and then two months after the POP! injury I had to fit a new exhaust onto my new car and slipped a disc, that was very sore!

Couldn't walk for 10 months spent a lot of time flat on my back, learn a few things though, the main rule for picking stuff up from the gound is walk over and squat down, no fancy pants ballet shit.

Practice doing it a few times until it's a habbit and avoid bending over or over extending your reach, I learned a technique when my back was injured that helped me become very efficient at doing stuff and this puts a lot less strain on my physique.

If you study the alexander technique or Zen, you will come to the same realization, as for sore knees elbows or other connective tissue problems like repetitive strain or arthritis, I always take glucosamine sulphate, one a day and I can avoid most aches and pains.

Or you can listen to your doctor, they will dope you out of your eye balls and call it treatment, good luck with what ever you decide to do and I hope you feel better soon.

Kael.
