Hi

I need something to get me through the next few winters and Im struggling to find the exact coat Im looking for

Ideally it would be:

Waterproof and breathable like only Goretex does well

Nice and warm/snug like a RAB but not as fragile or poor in a rainstorm

And tough as old boot and able to withstand years of abuse like a Barbour but without the dubious image ok yah associations

Whats out there guys as Im struggling to find what I want, which is:

Waterproof in a rainstorm walking to work and/or out in the Fens
Warm when the outside temp has plummeted
And indestructable bearing in mind I cant ever be arsed to look after any of my possessions

There must be something that fits the bill and Im happy to pay ££££ as it will hopefully be used for many years

Thanks!

splash out on the shell and bulk up underneath to what suits the conditions.
you asked for it to be waterproof, tough and also warm to go with it.this is going to be one big mother of a jacket! making it too warm for some conditions if its going to be quilted or seriously lined.

I just got a marmot jacket that retails for £190 down to £68.50 in tkmaxx.lasercut waterproof zips, goretex equivalent, zip in mid layer compat, stowaway or removable hood, powderskirt etc etc and its not some paclite crepe paper material thats going to last a few months either.

Gotta be TKMaxx. Snowboard / ski jacket could do the trick. I got a lovely Santa cruz one recently for 50 odd quid.
