Anyone tried ordering shimano mtb parts off ebay from China? Just wondering if anyone's given it a go, if so how long did it take to deliver? Do you think it was authentic? And also did you encounter any unexpected fee's etc?
Ordered lots of odds and ends but not branded components, ordered some graphite powder got loads for a few quid, anyway it came overland? Took months...i have bought D Class SMSL amp and it just arrived.
I wouldn't do it again. Bought some cheap alivio stuff for a kids bike - fake and utter shite.
Years ago i got a pair of manitou r7 pro's from china. Took about 11 weeks to arrive and came directly to the house, there was no added tax/handling fees.Fork cost about 40% compared to elsewhere like CRC.
Fork was genuine* and worked perfectly for years and sold them on about 4 months ago.
* I say genuine, but I couldnt honestly tell you, but there were no problems so i can only surmise they were legit.
I’ve bought a few little things off eBay (tenner max) - sometimes surprised how quick they arrive. I have bought a few things like carbon rims from Alibaba / Aliexpress as it’s cheaper (less fees) and often there are discount coupons. I’ve also bought direct from Chinese companies with no problems - all have been OEM or unbranded parts as there’s an awful lot of fakery with branded stuff.
Got some deore 6100 brakes.
Seem real. Quality is there. Power is there.
If they are copies I can't tell.
Things ordered from China on ebay generally arrive by the delivery date they give you, check feedback for anyone that bought the same item claiming fake or whatever, the things that are copies are usually known because they flood the market with them.
