I have several jobs that need doing in the new house, from fault finding on the plumbing / fitting a sink / tap to chasing and replacing sockets to repairing guttering and eventually an entire ensuite.
I don't have any previous contacts, friends recommendations have been patchy (most not available for ages) and I suspect I am paying the 'large house therefore must be loaded**' tax in the quotes I have had.
Anyone had much luck with websites like ratedpeople? Or should I avoid? Any others worth using? I don't really like having to put down a budget when asking for quotes - I have no idea how much these things might cost...hence could be offering over the odds.
** infact the complete opposite, large house so now completely broke with very little spare cash
All the jobs you suggest need doing are simple compared to fitting a new rear mech and indexing the gears!
