All of a sudden, quite randomly, my lady friend has stopped getting any of the texts that I send.

She hasn't put in a restraining order and blocked my number as far as I'm aware.

She is on Vodafone and has some ancient 90's Samsung clamshell thing, I am on an HTC One Mini on Orange/EE.

I've tried (with her phone) turning it off and on again(Obvs...), tried turning mine off and on again, tried removing her sim and battery, checked to see if she's somehow blocked me, but no, all seems fine.

I get her texts but she doesn't get mine.
When I set up delivery reports on my phone, they say or confirm, that she has received my text.....but, she hasn't.

Any ideas what to try folks?

Has she inadvertently blocked you.

Your sending them to the wrong lady friend?

Your sending emoticons (hearts and other smiley type faces) in the texts and she is receiving them as MMS messages, has hit her data limit and is about to receive a hefty bill? (I've heard of this happening with old phones)

Obvious things-

Anything changed recently? New apps, changed settings?

Try doing a factory reset on one/both phones.

Had the same thing recently, messages were accidentally going into the spam folder on the Samsung phone. Does it have a junk inbox that she is not aware of?

Checked her phone memory / inboxes aren't full up ? However this would affect everyone, not just you obviously.

Did you fix it?
My Dad has the exact same problem with some numbers including mine and he doesn't know what he's done or how to fix it. He lives 150 miles away so I can't pop round to fix it

My wife & MIL had the same issue. As did a work mate (who used to work for nokia).

Wife spent ages on the phone to vodafone. They were clueless. MIL bought a new phone in the end.

Workmates take was that vodafone had borked their routing tables. Workmate ended up having to tell them what he thought was wrong and had to push to get through to someone techie enough to understand. Took numerous calls and was finally fixed several months after vodafone admitted the problem.

Short route would be getting a new phone right?
Or perhaps a new sim?

Has your phone switched to sending MMS type texts rather than plain ones following a software upgrade? Her phone may not be able to receive them so they just get 'lost'.

No, no software upgrade and no change to mms setting.
