Guys,
At a recent gig our covers band had a request for some Slade. We don't do any, but I thought it was a great idea. Problem being, not one of us can sing like Noddy Holder. So, I had this idea of getting one of our backing singers to do it, and we put together a demo. If you have time, please give it a listen, and tell me if you think it could work.

I'd appreciate your comments. Feel free to be frank!

Yeah, your hits on our page would bump us too....

Anyway's......

Thanks very Much

I hate Slade, but think your version is ace. Loving the backing singers voice!!

I like it but...

I'm not sure I'm into the phaser/ chorus on the guitar in the opening bars and it's perhaps a little fizzy for my taste. Singer's holding her own (oo-er!) but the backers could grow a pair!

All in all Noddy would be into it!

As for the album art...

A buff? Really?

Haven't heard anyone who can.....and there-in lies the problem!

Nothing wrong with the backing vocalist but when you expect Noddy to come blasting in and there is a pleasantly voiced female instead, I'm afraid it doesn't work for me. I realise it's a demo (and I'm listening to it on a non-external speakered laptop) but how about keeping the guitar riff going and dirty the sound up A LOT !

Thanks everyone, for taking the time to listen, and comment! Much appreciated. Good Karma 🙂

Hhhmmmm, so all in all it's not a total disaster. Maybe if we played it late in the second set and get everyone to join in with the chorus?

@MrNutt and john_drummer - Sorry about the eye assault artwork. I did it as a punishment!!! I told 'em don't leave it to me because you might not like what you get. It's a photoshop mock up. We never even stood together like that or wore most of those clothes.

@clareymorris - Thanks. I've passed that on. You've made her day. It will help to boost her confidence.

@Monkeeknutz - The phaser/chorus effect must be an artefact of my crappy recording technique as the guitar went through a valve pre-amp then straight into the desk. I didn't like it either, but as it's only a demo I left it.

@Woody - there-in lies the problem indeed. Hence this kind of 'side step' version. I tried to pull it down in the verse to make the chorus seem more punchy.
