what happened to RAD magazine? I used to buy that religiously. just looked it up and it's now a magazine for radiographers. How disambiguous!

Yeah, but I just found out that it wasn't Christian Slater smashing out the flat land tech wizardry ๐Ÿ‘ฟ

It was Sir Mullen afterall...

Bugger me Rodney Mullen has come a long way since the skinny board and knee pads. That's some serious street skating right there...

Oddly enough, I had a look for my old deck earlier this evening. Found it, a Hobie with Powerflex trucks, but the bloody wheels are missing! Aaarrrgghhh! Bones they were, heaven knows where they've gone, dammit.

My son is 14 and is into skateboarding and mountainbiking. To punish him I am making him read this. no, really.

**** me, some of this takes me back. rodney mullen! sean goff and deathbox, natas decks, me being really-really rubbish but enthusiastic at skating!

my last skateboard, a scmitz stickz or sommat with indys, I left outside my house in Hackney for da youth to plunder/hurt themselves. It's like another life I can't remember!

Nah, doesn't ring a bell. Not sure if Sean still co-owns / runs SS20 in Oxford... not really had anything to do with the skating world for almost 10 yrs now.

Strange to think how much of my life revolved around the sport at one time.

Those videos bring back memories of time spent at radlands, St george and Bedminster, Rom and Harrow. A legend of the skate park on two wheels - rob ridge for tech

I was too young to be out at any party for that video... one of the first videos I had though... played it to death! Could only find Danny's section on youtube though.

Did you ever skate the cowley road ramps in Oxford then?

on the subject of old skaters...........from the 70's

i've got a few old boards in a cabinet downstairs. a g&s peralta warptail 2, logan earth ski 'bruce logan model' and a 1960s Bilbo (og newquay surf company) skateboard. anyway in the summer the wife's 14yr old nephew was visiting and said to wife 'wow cool retro boards'. wife, bless her, retorted 'actually they're original.'

if anyone remembers paul "rocker" robson, i'm still mates with him. he competes in triathlons these days and still skates a bit too.
i've still got a board in my spare room- toy machine jamie thomas, from around 1998. i've not skated in over 10 years though.
still got a few old VHS vids too; if anyone's interested i can list up what i have left...

Anders Pulpanek was much more of a pitbull than Rocker, Europe's version of Jason Jesse.
