I just live off the route of the Bike Race and yellow signs saying the roads are to be closed on the 28th & 29th July have been put up. Does anybody know if this is for whole weekend or just for a short time while they buzz through?

I am heading down Friday night to watch both until Sunday evening camping locally, but I have been informed a few hours before and after. although I wouldn't be too optimistic. Friend went down for test event and tehy ruled it with an iron fist as they have been warned they can't f*** up. I think I'd just accept you are "stranded" and don't really need to get out unless on bike! I could be completely wrong though.

When they say closed, do they mean on full lockdown, no peds, no bicycles?

I believe there shall be a curfew and martial law now that the military is involved.

Sat 28th July road closure in place from 04:00am (06:00 Hampton Court Road) lifted as soon as safe after the race

Sun 29th July road closure in place from 06:00am lifted as soon as safe after the race

Mon 30th July no road closures - I think

Tues 31st July. Time Trial rehearsal 10:00-12:00 rolling road closures (more disruption rather than full blown closures)

Weds 1st Aug. Road closures in place from 05:30, but Hampton Court Road closed from 31st July at 22:00. Everything only reopens at 06:00am on 2nd August.

Parking restrictions have their own rules even more "draconian".

Please visit richmond.gov.uk/olympics for more info. I live opposite Bushy Park. I am ****ed, need to WFH and go and watch the TT 😆

Out here in the burbs near boxhill it's road closure for almost all saturday (well actually 4am Saturday morning! until 4pm Sunday afternoon). Just half a mile to the RR across the bridleways for us on Saturday/Sunday. Then 10mins on the bike to the TT on Wednesday afternoon. 😀
