I'm off to Spain for a bit of riding fun in the sunshine at Easter. Are olives to the locals a bit like ale is to us- special. Any advice is welcome. Likewise for beers.

Cheers folks ๐Ÿ™‚

I would imagine locals are very fond of their produce. I hated then when I was a bairn, now my favourite snack.

When you're there ask for Greek kalamata olives.

Don't eat the tinned stuff with the stones removed as they are pretty awful. The best are ones that are cracked with the stone left in.Normally on a market you can get different flavours with the olives being soaked in lemon, garlic, etc.
I have 2 old olive trees out in Spain and have prepared olives for eating with varying degrees of success.

I was in Spain once and ate a olive off an olive tree-type arrangement.
It was spectacularly minging. Seems they must be prepared in some way first... ๐Ÿ˜ณ

I love olives. Big green queen olives are the shiz.
