We have an old Sony Bravia 37" flat screen and we've bought an android box. Screen keeps going green/pink when we use the box. Internet says 'handshake', is it new TV time?
Our TV doesn't appear to be firmware updateable.

Is it connected via HDMI ? Is the cable connection good at both ends ?

It is, yes and I've tried 2 different cables. Google suggested updating the firmware but I can't see a USB slot which I presume tells its own story..

My Bravia has a LAN connection, so can be updated that way.

Bought a new tv, problem solved. You were right though, there is multi pinned port on the back, possibly like a monitor one, maybe this could be used to update it.
