My dad is clearing out his loft and found a big box full of my old Beano's. They will be around 35 years old, probably about 100 of them. So relatively old but certainly not vintage. W I don't really want to shove them in my loft for the next 35 years. I don't expect to make any money out of them but it nice if they had a second life rather than go to landfill.

So what do you do with old comics like this?

I've just seen the similar thread about vintage magazines, some good suggestions on there.

Its seems my Dad isn't the only person having a spring clean out!

I imagine they'd make somebody very happy. A child maybe? Unless the Beano has recently been declared unpolitically correct/racist/sexist/whatever... dunno.

Not quite the same, but I pulled out a stack of old Viz comics recently. Spent about a week having some serious lols. Put them back where I found them to be revived again in another twenty years.

I'd give you decent beer money for them if you are in my part of the world. My daughter is a huge fan and hoovers them up. Looking for old annuals at carboots is one of her favourite pastimes.

Unfortunately not (we are in Surrey). I'm sure another more local child would love to have them.

Oh aye. 'Jocks and the Geordies' - divisive. 😉

Or was that The Dandy?

I sold a load of the Comic Libraries (the little yellow ones) a while back on ebay, in bundles of 20 and in good condition, got £5-£15 back per bundle after postage and costs. Not really worth it in money terms but I didn't want to bin them and I figured this got them to someone that'd appreciate them, without having to track down specialist retailers or collectors markets or whatever. Same approach would probably work for the comics (the massive boxes of comics we found had been damp at some point 🙁 )
