Do I need to disable WiFi calling on my phone to avoid roaming charges?
This is for india where o2 has £8 a day charges. I will have roaming disabled and I will have a data esim but apparently WiFi calling in India for o2 is subject to standard tariff charges.
Therefore should WiFi calling be disabled?

Buy an esim with calls and forget O2 while your there?

Second what Matt says if you can get a prepaid sim for the length of your trip and then there are no issues. This is what I do when we go to the US.
