they are built in space, mooch about in space, with all that "lack of gravity" thing going on, to keep them "up".
pressumably, being that low to the surface, gravity will start to take a hold and have an effect on the ship, balancing this out with some sort of propulsion, on a vessel that big, will end up flattening all structures below (ewok tree houses and "junk") and that IF the structure can support its own weight in a gravity influenced environment.....
....does look nice though.
