Just looks incredible,  having been cleaned as part of the restoration.

(Before this goes religious, it's owned by the state, not the church)

Nice to see it restored, maybe they can give the builders at Sagrada Família a hand now

I watched the spire fall on telly, and my heart sank to see the destruction of such an iconic building. I’ve never been there, and I’m not particularly religious, but I have a deep love for and appreciation of old churches and cathedrals, and enormous respect for the skill of the architects, masons and stained glass artisans who created such beautiful buildings. Wells and Salisbury in particular are favourites of mine, but I’d love to see Notre Dame and the Sagrada Familia, especially the latter, because of the extraordinary architecture by Gaudi.

Not entirely true. Roughly speaking the state owns the structure and the church the contents.

The state went with restore it as it was.

The church went for "lets make some improvements".

It was rather controversial in the catholic church and I think ended up being dialled back a bit.

It's incredible how quickly it's been repaired. Manchester Town Hall is a joke in comparison, and that's just a restoration that's now two years over timescale.
