I tried rail enquiries and they just said it means you can't go through London. Thanks for that!

If my ticket says this can I go through Clapham Junction - I'm not going through the London station after all.

btw, if I check fares going through clapham it says I need 2 tickets and costs more than the journey saying "not london".

anyone got any ideas?

I thought that 'Not London' meant that you couldn't transfer via one or more of the London terminii (Euston, Kings X, Paddington etc). This stops you going in and back out again via one station, or crossing London on the tube to create a cross-(central)-London route.

I'm no expert though...

Clapham is in london, but so is Wimbledon where I need to get to.
I was previously under the impression that it was a terminus restriction rather than anything else particular.

What -m- said. Can't go through London termini. Via CJ should be fine.

It's all designed to keep you out of central London terminii not the outer changing points.

Travelling from Godalming to Wimbledon. There are other routes that are more or less as quick. BUT.... when the connections don't work you end up waiting for ages. If I go through CJ then there's a train to wimbledon every 10 minutes so it's a more reliable route.

As others, I'm pretty sure that's fine. Also (and this is of course not technically the point) you don't go through a ticket barrier to change platforms at CJ, so the chances of it becoming an issue with some SWT chimp are very low.
