"GCSE results up 14%".

In terms of 5 A-C grades including English and Maths the College’s headline figure has improved by 14% from 51% in 2010 to 65% this summer.

I think you'll find it's actually up 27%, but don't tell them. Good school though.

Yes if I were being pedantic I would sat the results had improved by 14 pts, but it does seem clear from the context what is the net improvement.

Umm well it's both really isn't it?

An additional 14% of pupils got 5 A-C grades compared to last year, which is a 27% increase.
At least they were clear about what they meant.
