had my last Nokia for 2 years and never found anything that you could call 'good' unfortunately

They do have Angry Birds now. The maps are great, and the Sports Tracker is a great app.
Bounce it is pretty fun, and I recall a multiplayer ping/pong type game that is played over the network - that looked fun too.

You're not just limited to the Ovi store.
Loads of good stuff out there from the practical (torch, anglemeter) to the fun (great games). Just have a google.
Not on Ovi store, but get Trekbuddy. It's excellent for GPS and OS mapping
