Ahh... the delights of buying used cars from Carshop...The wife bought a Diesel CRV which seems to have become pretty noisy on start up over the past few weeks - running like a bag of spanners from cold IMO and generally running less than smoothly for the rest of the time, mpg is pretty poor too - is any of this common? any experience?
AND Rear near side suspension creaks as we corner, may be my imagination but seems to be getting worse, what could it be? car is still under three month warranty from garage so need to get it sorted...
Thanks

Is it the suspension or the rear diff?
Moan or Groan From the Rear Differential
(Supersedes 07-024, dated April 20, 2007, to update the information marked with the black bars)
BACKGROUND
A moaning or groaning comes from the rear differential
when making a sharp or tight turn at low speeds.
PROBABLE CAUSE
Contamination in the rear differential fluid.
Crappy running is almost certainly a service issue. Honda engines are tighter than most and missing a service will make it run like a bag of spanners.
Creaking could possibly be something loose, rather than broken, trim maybe?
What's the mileage?
Thanks bruneep
Not sure if it's the suspension or rear diff to be honest, but is most noticeable in low speed turns so fits with the differential diagnosis - what does the line in brackets refer to?

Mileage is 60K ... last service September '10 🙁
emailed you service doc
Cheers again bruneep, assume this will apply to the new shape '57 model too?

Noisy from start up? possible cracked exhaust manifold? - it's common issue on the i-cdti engines.
Ahh CRV = Cr@p Road Vehicle
But for that last comment, cheers! 😉
