Got an old Arcam 8 CD player, it's started making a buzzing noise when the power lead is installed, even when the player is switched off

Tried a different power lead and no difference

Any idea what it could be?

Otherwise it still works fine

Turn up the volume on the amp.

Woody's probably right.

🙂

Just worried it might blow up or catch fire if I leave it plugged in

If it has a toroidal transformer (normally heavy and round) they can sometimes do this with a noisy mains supply. Or the bolt could be loose, they do vibrate a bit. Plug into a different ring main or remove cover to check these theories out.

Where do you live James. I have an Alpha 7 that
wont spin discs. Pretty sure the power supply
would be the same.
