King Juan Carlos has apologised to the Spanish people for going on a hunting trip in Africa while his country was in the midst of an economic crisis.

That's it mate, no more holidays, ever, for you - as Spain won't get out of its economic mess in your lifetime...

Yep, think it was probably only because of the fact it was a hunting trip that it made the news - must've been a slow news week & they're bored of only reporting the fact that they're doomed.

Errr.

And, the fate of the spanish economy has about as much to do with figure head sovereign of that state.

As the economic destiny of the UK has to do with the Queen.

What! The queen (god bless you maaaam) brings in trillions of pounds of tourism money whilst her son Andrew is the saviour of UK exports. If they went on holiday the UK would collapse within 72 hours.

I think he's been harshly treated. He was trying to get Spain out of an economic hole. He saw a gap in the market to satisfy the demand in the far east for Ivory toothpicks and dodgy medicines involving Tigers Scrotums. They should be thanking him - the ungrateful, profligate bastardos!!

How many Heffalumps would Phil The Greek bag himself in 72 hours?

If King Juan had been sat on a beach or a boat nobody would care. Shooting elephants though... not the best idea even when things are going well for the economy I would suggest. Maybe the next thing he will put a round into will be his PR advisor.
