The battery failed in my cordless hair trimmer. It was two NiCd AAs, but they seem hard to find in tagged form whereas NiMH are plentiful.
Question is, can they use the same charging circuit that was contained in the trimmer? Doesn't look like there was much intelligence in there anyway, I only see wires so it looks like the batteries were just connected to a power supply.

Should be fine. Same voltage and charging requirements. Only issue might be capacity if it is a timer charger but that is unlikely. Smart charger(delta v) or trickle charger is most likely and that will be fine
