I'm going to New York in the morning and intend on doing at least one run, but i'll have my iphone in "flight" mode to prevent big bills.
Has anyone used the Nike+ GPS app for the iphone while the "phone" aspect is disabled? i.e. will it still track the run using the GPS function? I don't expect it to be able to sync wirelessly until I have wi-fi connection again, but it would be good to know if the run will be tracked.
Thanks for any info you can give.
Dave.
Works with runkeeper. Can't see why it wouldn't work with the Nike software.

Apparently the GPS is switched off in flightmode. No idea why, it's only a receiver.
That said the easy solution is not to turn on flight mode - just make sure that 'data roaming' is off, and that 'celluar data' options are off. Then no expensive bills...
you can turn on flight mode, and then turn GPS & wifi back on independently. I do it quite a lot.
