Is it me or is he the thickest DJ ever? On any station?

For instance you might not like, say, Chris Moyles, but he's an absolute music geek. He knows his stuff. And his general knowledge is good too.

But Grimshaw? Jeeeezus. He doesn't know ANYTHING about ANYTHING. He's just.... errr..... hopeless?

Because I can't stand any commercial stations and R1 is the only station that plays anything new.

Grimshaw is the only DJ on there that annoys me. He's thick and sooooooo 'false'

He seems like a small boy who's just wandered into the studio and isn't quite sure why he's there.
But aye, - he's far less upsetting than "Grimmy" though. I can't stand the cock.

I only hear Greg James when I'm trying to get to Manchester Airport in a hurry in the wee small hours, and he just niggles me.

EDIT - And that's from someone that grew up in Sutton-in-Ashfield.......

I have a theory that everyone hates at least one radio one DJ

Not really. Comedy Dave is the one with the excellent music knowledge but I've heard some major gaffs/ ignorance from Moyles when it comes to music knowledge.

I can't think of a Radio 1 DJ that I don't hate.

Zane Lowe. Worse than irritating. Actually painful sometimes.

Agreed. I quite like some of the music Zane Lowe plays but I can't tolerate his ridiculous whiny voice.

I think the main thing that I can't stand about all Radio 1 DJs, is the way they massively hype everything - I guess this must be what they are supposed to do but its incredibly irritating.

Zane Lowe is the worst for it though "THIS IS THE HOTTEST BAND IN THE WORLD RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!' - **** off!

Coxy. I used to like her on Breakfast, then she had a kid and all she waffles on about is her kid. And it is doting-mother waffle, nothing funny or useful just how cute her looks when the dog pooped in her pram etc. **** off back to lunch with your other mum pals.

Mills has actually risen to one of my preferred R1 DJs. Totally fake and set up, but he makes no bones about it.

Sarah Cox = AAARRRRRGGHHHHHH!
Absolutely can't stand her inane child-speak.
Makes everyone in the north embarrassed to be associated with her.
Completely useless and annoying bint.
Why?
That is all.

Sometimes I get into the car, and my wife has left Radio 1 on. Mills makes my skin crawl.

As for the morning, I don't find Chris Moyles annoying, but comedy Dave?

Saying that, it is worth **** all what I think, because I listen to radio 5.

Moyles isn't the real crime.

It's the sycophantic arse licking from his "posse"

Same here. After they left and the Great Man was just a voice on recordings, there was no reason to listen any more. R1 seems to just be full of the most annoying and inane tw4ts trying to be trendy all the time. And most of the music is shite, speshly during the day.

Moyles, espeshly, annoys me. Can't stand him, or the whole 'posse' set up. He'd be nothing without his little crew of bum-lickers backing him up, anyway. And he does not in any way really have much idea about music; just name-drops all the time.

Radio 1 is for kids, anyway. What a grown man in his 50s, like PP, is doing listening to R1, I don't know.

Plenty of internet radio out there, or listen to yer own choons.

I prefer stuff like BBC Radio London 94.9FM, because it's got loads of stuff about London; discussions, 'phone ins etc. Really very inertesting, a lot of the time. If I want music, I bung me iTunes on.

Radio 1 is nowt more than a vehicle to promote pop music. It's as 'commercial' as anything else.

Actually, when I first read 'Nick Grimshaw', I immediately thought of the architect Nicholas Grimshaw, who designed such stuff as the Eurostar Terminal at Waterloo, A Sainsbergs + flats in Caymden, and the Financial Times printworks in Docklands.

And you know the UK BMW headquaters in Bracknell, Peter? He done that too.

Not my fave architect, I have to say. I find his work a bit too conservative; like he's not really letting himself go. Deffo in the shadow of Foster and Rogers.

Grimmy does my head in - it just sounds painful!! Slighty more so than Sarah Cox. I generally don't listen to either of their shows, as they do my nut. If someone else less annoying did the shows, then I'd probably listen at those times...

I don't mind Grimmy, he has a sort of easy charm when it comes to chatting with celebs and I find his voice quite amusing.

But I'd like to take Edith "Get In" Bowman, and use her as a blunt instrument to beat the living daylights out of that cockney imbecile Nihaal. He just goes on about the same thing over and over again.

As for Coxy, I think she's probably one of my favourite celebs - I think she's absolutely hilarious!

My point of view, is that the 'in new music we trust' dj's are good. Pete tong is a legend! Annie mac plays some great tunes, giles peterson has great tast etc. I even find Tim BIG DAWG Westwood amusing. But moyles should shoot himself.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned them, but saw first couple of comments and had to vent my spleen.

Edith bloody Bowman, and the queen of sycophants, jo whiley. Have there ever been two more pointless people on radio. I remember bowman when she used to read the news on mtv...arse, and whiley....i havent the words to describe her. Its her kids i feel sorry for, as she swans around pretending to be best mates with whichever new band are in, and sucking off anyone "cool". You're damn near 50 woman, get over yourself.

Rant Over.

and Zane Lowe???? What a tool. I think he forgets he only got into the business as the result of a reality contest on an MTV show, then continues to piss on the grave of the Temple of Morris's career. Proper Nobend.

Yes. Chris Moyles and Sara Cox. Pair of dozy, ignorant lowest-common-denominator appeal imbeciles. Marconi must surely be spinning in his grave...

Yes but to his credit, Moyles is a DJ. Its all he's ever done, and he's worked his way up, and he wouldnt be there if (millions of)people didnt listen to him. The Bowman is just a former media studies woman done good (or bad, for us). and saying whiley worked under the late great john peel, i really cant explain why she turned out the way she did.

Hmmmm, thinking about it, why do I ever listen to Radio 1?

Chris Moyles - quickly became annoying and I can't listen to him and his band of merry men anymore. And WHY do they have to have Chris Moyles adverts on radio 1 all day?!
Jo Whiley - aaarrrggghhh. Her voice annoys me and the way she name drops all the time.
Nick Grimshaw - just annoying
Greg James - equally annoying
Edith Bowman - annoying and just seems to talk toot all the time.

Fern & Reggie - tolerable
Nihall (spelling) - tolerable
Scot Mills - used to like but beginning to find annoying
Vernon Kay - hardly ever on, but one of the better ones.

I have started listening to Mark Radcliffe on Radio 2 on my weekly drive home from Thetford and it's pretty good. Not too much talking and a right old variety of stuff.
