Not had one in a while so here's a gratuitous pic of the log store I just built.

It's made from wood "reclaimed" when a neighbour had a new conservatory built. It replaces a couple of stores. One sat at the side of the shed made and was from a couple of pallets: the other was previously sited at the same location as this and consisted of two crates that came from the local building suppliers. The crates had been used to contains flagstones. As you can see, this new store has taken all of that and still has room to spare
It's sited as much for convenience as for protection, it's just outside the back door so we don't have to go too far, but as you can see here the first easterly that came in covered the front layer wood in snow
