Take a look on John Lewis' website - all TVs come with a free five year guarantee and prices are actually good too.

Personally I'm a fan of Panasonics these days (having been a Sony fan over the years), and there are a few to choose from on there (eg a 'smart' 1080p 39" for 449 and a 42" for 549).

Hope this helps 🙂

Samsung, LG and Sony are the 3 main choices to go for. John Lewis will price match a shop or website that has a shop.

Haha, wondered how long it would take a troll to question what at the end of the day is only an (informed) opinion, that's probably why so many people don't bother replying to recommendation threads - if you're not a fan of them wobbli, that's your opinion, but at least try to help out the OP like Drac ( 🙂 ) has with his own advice and do something productive like recommending a TV (as requested) as opposed to being a grumpy old green skinned bridge blocker 😉

Mr Grizzly thinks Mr Scott is questioning his suggestion of Panasonic, whereas Mr Scott might just be suggesting Panasonic in a rounabout way, by using just one word and an inflection?

It could be either, who knows?

On an unrelated matter, I've just discovered that you shouldn't eat uncooked marrowfat peas *gurgles*

Samsung for me, had 2, first is still going strong upstairs. I'd suggest getting a smart TV, I now wished we'd spent the extra £50.

I was suggesting Panasonic. They're my first choice in Telly's. Should have been more specific in my answer to avoid confusion, just being lazy.

When I got mine, all the recommendations were for toshiba, has that changed now? It's been good, can't say I compared it to every telly in the world mind, it was also pretty cheap

I'd say any of the bigger name brands will give a decent picture. The differences tend to be in the extras like smart features and aesthetics if you care about that.

Thanks for all the replies , poped into our local pc/curryworld and had a look at the Panasonic TX-40AS640 great picture quality with free time tv which mrs beanZ thinks we should have , only downside is its a exclusive model too pc/curryworld with only 12mths warranty . Checked on Richersounds and John Lewis but not currently in thier model lineup , they do have the tx-42as650b which apparently makes the viewing come alive 🙂

Panasonic Plasma if you can get hold of one. Think the last run is all sold out except in the very large sizes now -

Richer Sounds still have some 60VT's
