I think it looks like any other euro box sports car and is too 'polished' looking for a Lotus, it also looks way too big and bulky.

Then again Lotus is no longer Lotus so should we be surprised.

I think the current Elise will very quickly become a classic while the new ones wont be.

Not the new Elise but I think I agree a bit. Think Honda and squint.

Lotus Elise is my dream car, i didn't initially like the look of the recent facelift but saw one in the flesh yesterday and it looks great. The one you linked to looks fantastic

The new models all look great IMO.

But I saw an early Europa the other day, one of my favorite ever cars and will always be so.

Blimey! I think the last car that had butterscotch tartan as a feature was the Austin Allegro.

I think it looks stunning. If it drives well then sales will be good, I'm sure.

lol@IanMunro very true! On reflection I'm not sure I like the interior a great deal compared to the exterior lines.

It's not a new Elise.

It's a far bigger, faster and more expensive car, competing with ferraris etc. The Elise will still be made.

EDIT: I didn't read down far enough. New Elise too. Looks pretty good to me and a not much over 1ton, it should still go round corners pretty well 🙂

It was only once i got to that, that i realised there were several different cars on the page, the first few all look the same and while kinda nice in a normal sports car type way, suck compared to the last elise.

Dream on if you think all five of these models will reach production...
Who launches a new model without even a prototype being built? Most of these are computer graphics, and 5yrs away from launch!

I like the Esprit, looks very nice indeed. I dreamed of having one when I was a kid.

The Elise has never done anything for me.

Apparently not.

But whether they all get made is still a valid point.

Looks nice, wonder if it will take bikes on the roof and good mpg? 😯

Seriously would be a fun toy!

I like the Japanese reliability mixed in with the excellent engineering and handling of a lotus, the lotus mantra of light weight still exists as all the new models are lighter than the cars there competing against and i cant see them doing away with cars that are competitive for the track but now there a bit more refined. I think the days of the stripped down impractical track day special are numbered as a large scale business model, the Elise gave rise to many imitators and now there are dozens of small scale enterprises putting together buzzy lightweight track cars (theres 3 manufacturers within my city alone)

Quite considerably under 1 ton, actually. But not much over 1 tonne 😉
