Cheers, suddenly there's no reason to wake up at 4am in a blind panic, on a regular basis...

They seem to have a floating factory as I've recently seen it described as Kew (nope - wrong county and side of the river), Chiswick (I can hear the screaming from the W4 now) and Hammersmith (WTF!?).
When it should really be "behind Magnet in the Golden Triangle, Brentford".

Is London not in Britain then? 😉

I was going to say English as that's what I thought but wasn't sure. Just checked on Brompton website and it indeed is London so English it is!!! Woo hoo! 😀

This is good news, and the bike's OK. Don't much like the yellow radiator. 🙂

No! 😀

Are they actually made here, or, as I suspect, actually made in a factory in the Far East then 'assembled' over here? It's just that according to Wiki, they've licensed the design out to some Taiwanese company or whatever, which made me wonder how 'British' they actually are?

Don't much like the yellow radiator

Neither do I. That colour scheme is nasty. I do hope that's a house you've recently moved into, and you haven't had time to redecorate...

Mixed feelings about those. Can they at least not fit decent brakes instead of £79 supermarket special ones?

They are made here - the licencing deal was for a copy to be sold in the Far East.

In 1992, Brompton started an agreement with the Taiwanese-based company Neobike to allow the manufacture of a licensed copy for distribution in Eastern Asia; a market not already served by Brompton directly.

Thanks. In that case perhaps you could pray for me to win the lottery - I'm sure it would work. I'll give you 20%...

I'm sure they're genuine "dual-race" roadie-style brakes, at least, that's what they look like to me...

Yes, that's a nice bike, but it doesn't fold up (clue in the thread title)...

Dashed cunning, those orientals, eh what...

🙂

Dahon are a good creative bike maker with lots of interesting designs. I fancy one of these

but they don't make a single speed version.

I picked up the last one of these from Winstanleys

www.flickr.com/photos/hardcoder/4188830745/

Dahon Hammerhead 7.0 last month for £250 , bargain!

Does not fold though... But the latest version does, just not imported here.
