I love the slow pace of it.

Last week's episode with the alien was odd.

Ewan MacGregor better than expected

Can I throw in an OT? I have the first series on DVD, never watched the film, should I watch it first?

Not finding it as engaging as the previous series, I must say, but it is still great TV. Different and quirky and slightly weird. David Thewliss is a bit over-acty, but I like the character he plays.

Only the title, location and accents are related. (But you should watch the film cos it's fab)

No need, but you should watch the film at some point, it's pretty good.

Me neither. I will watch the whole series but I am not rushing to watch each episode so not drawing me in.

Have seen them all and think this is up there with the best. I am also in love with Mary Winstead now.

I thought last nights was good, the way the interrelationships of the crimes is starting to dawn on the coppers.

What I can't work out is if any of the characters in this series are related to, or are the same as those in the first two at a different age.

On another note, what is the link with the man arrested in East Germany in episode 1? Intriguing.

I thought that was a younger Ennis Stussy tbh, but could be wrong.

First two TV series were great, this one a bit less compelling IMO. Watched the film again recently and was surprised how boring it was.

Disagree. There's a couple of references back to the film. I'd encourage anyone to watch the film, then the series in order. But then it is my favorite film. 8)

Yep. Watching, but not as gripping as first two series.

I also like to binge watch. How have you guys who have watched them all done so?

The film is a classic, Coen brothers at their very best. Watch that first, and also No Country for Old Men, The Big Lebowski, and any other of their films that take your fancy. The Coen brothers basically made the same film multiple times: there is a bag of money, anyone who wants the money is doomed. The TV series tries to cash in on that, but it's pretty dull by comparison IMO. Watchable for sure, but I give it a B- whereas the movie is an A+. The TV series weren't made by the Coen brothers, I think they just sold the IP rights to the highest bidder.

Disagree entirely. I think every season has been superb.
You often change your mind about who is really at the centre of the story.
Very unpredictable with very dark humour. Absolutely loved this season.

The movie is superb of course, but I don't see these as being inferior.

If you've already seen Better Call Saul, the other show I really enjoyed this spring was American Gods.

Unfortunately I couldn't binge watch either - weekly drip feeds for this one. It's just that they aired a few weeks earlier in the US.
