New Email provider

As part of my divorce settlement I am arguing to keep my original email / apple account.  This has gradually morphed into be the family account and I have set up a new business account and address.  These two accounts appear to be intrinsically linked with weird cross over emails, with random signatures and avatars appearing.

Regardless of the settlement I would now like to set up a new completely independent email address.  Can anyone recommend a cheap / free provider?  Can I still open confidentially in apple mail so it appears on the mail dashboard like my business account?

many thanks

...again - Gmail!

My Apple Mail app has x2 business emails and x2 back-up Gmail accounts running.

Re your Apple weirdness - are you still using your original Apple ID on your Apple devices. If so you'd need to create a new Apple ID and unlink your devices from your original one.

Very much this, especially if the ex is showing any signs of being a bit of a stalker.

Fastmail user here. It’s easy to work with - good search & folder options, reasonable apps, lots of domains and own domain use too - just not as good privacy as Proton.

edit: sorry, I didn’t read your post properly re pricing. Fastmail don’t do a free account, so Gmail or Protonmail would be better!

You can use either Gmail or outlook or proton too. All are free

I recommend Protonmail as well. Free and private.
