hey all about to order a new car which I'm told won't arrive until end of July 🙁

have someone wanting to buy my existing car now and offering good money.

thinking on gambling and getting a 2006 Audi A4 cabriolet; which is being offered below book price as it's winter and the owner is moving to the middle east next week.....plan would be to sell it in July, when it's hopefully toasty and worth more!

so, any armature wheelers and dealers out there care to chip in.....

sounds reasonable to me, but there's no way of guaranteeing you'll get your money back on it.

All I would say is make sure it well below book. Make the seller realise you are doing him a favour and are taking a right chance and you need it to be the deal of the century.

I would say it would be a gamble. I have the same car that you might buy and im waiting to part exchange. My new car has turned up early but i have been monitoring the glasses guide price for the last 2 months. It has risen since Dec but im not sure it will gain much more come summertime..

useful intel Moda.... on the other hand I doubt it will depraciate any more than the car I have (a 2006 A6 Avant) so shouldn't loose out.

Fair point and the cars are at an age where the depreciation has greatly slowed. In your shoes i would be looking at the lowest trade in value, i presume you have a glasses valuation ? On my car low mileage 2.0T that would be £8830 thats the worst scenario if the car is not in that good nick.

Moda, parkers valuation is £12K and this is higher spec and lower milage (23K) than average. So finger crossed it would work out....happy to pay a £1000 for 6 months motoring if it comes to that..
