T2 was a pretty thin nostalgia-fest that just lent of it’s better predecessor. No wonder it ended up on Netflix

T2 was actually quite clever in that they managed to make a sequel of the first film (which was not a patch on the book) but turn it around and make it more about a major character in the book (Spud) than Ewan ****ing McGreggor's teethy grin.
I didn't really like the film of Trainspotting when it first came out. Partly as I'd been living a Jakey/druggy/unemployed/petty criminal existance across from Leith Central Station when IW wrote/published Trainspotting and was blown away by it. I'd never read anything so real before. Infact. Some of the stories I read, I'd already heard from locals. (Names changed obvz).
T2 is what it is and you'll either enjoy it for what it is or maybe you won't. No need to be a snob about any films/Netflix

"Struggle: The Life & Lost Art of Szukalski" was recommended to me by a friend. It's an utterly jaw dropping documentary.

T2 was ok but would’ve been better if they made Porno as is

It ended up on Netflix as it’s coming up 2 years old.

No need to be a snob

Oooh, did the nasty man critise something you like? Given that you often give your unwelcome and ill-informed opinions to anyone regarless, like a dockside hooker with the clap. The lack of self awareness in your post reveals a level up until now diplayed only by pot plants

I'm enjoying Wanderlust at the moment. British comedy drama with Vod from fresh meat and Muriel from Muriels wedding plus Paul Kaye who I've always liked.

I watched the first episode of Sex Education last night. I don’t think I’m its target audience but it’s quite funny and I was surprised to see it was English – I expected it to be set in the US (not sure why though). Gillian Anderson is 😍

anyone else watched this? just going through old 'prime suspects' at the mo and will be wanting a new boxset soon. will probably try 'You' but also interested in Sex Education.

Yeah I’m really enjoying Sex Education. Highly recommended.

Need to look up the reason it’s obviously written by an American but set in “England”. It’s very odd as the “English Secondary” school is nothing of the sort - it’s an American school filled with English pupils.

Edit: OK, English writer deliberately calling back to Breakfast Club / Ferris Bueller etc. apparently.

I watched the first episode of Sex Education and thought it was dire. Gave the 2nd episode 10mins to confirm it.

You was pretty decent. As long as you don't try and take it seriously it's worth a watch.

Watched the Netflix movie Close last night. Garbage despite the lead.

Sex Education is one of those things that I won’t watch cos it’s like they’re forcing it on you! I open Netflix to continue a series I’ve been watching and all I’m confronted with is THIS! WATCH THIS! Well, no, piss off!
I believe this could be ‘cutting my nose off to spite my face’ but that’s something I’m well known for 😂

The fix is pretty good as a comedy program. The white rabbit project is clever, 3 of the ones from mythbusters doing interesting stuff

Sex Education becomes really rather good later in the series. It’s worth persevering. I really hope they make another series.

Well it is a comedy about teenagers discovery sex I'm not sure it's possible to take it too serious.

I think it becomes a lot more than that towards the end.

Season 2 of the Punisher just released and shaping up to be every bit as good as the first.

Glitch is also a decent series and new Archer episodes added recently.

I heard the creator talking about Sex Education on the BBC and it sounded like I'd hate it. He said they wanted to make something "aspirational".

Is it more Dawson's Creek than Inbetweeners?

No. It’s like Skins for 6th formers, but the cinematography is excellent and the story development is much stronger.

"Close" is indeed dreadful. Jeffrey Archer level dialogue, (very) sub-Bourne action.

"Fyre", the documentary about the ill fated Caribbean "festival" for rich kids is interesting. Incredible just how far the whole scam went.

Just finished watching Travellers season 3. It's a fantastic series with an interesting spin on what time travelling is. Definitely recommend that you watch it
It finished properly at the end of season 3 as well.

Has anyone suggested Sense8? 2 Seasons and a 2 hour finish off. Found I needed to get past about the first 2 episodes before I "got it". Thereafter, brilliant. Created by the Wachowski sisters who, when they were brothers, did the Matrix.

I’m going to watch sex education as I think it’s filmed in that weird part of Wales/England and there’s a nice cafe on the way ‘filling station’ in tintern so may be able to rustle up an interesting ride.

Hmmm I well watched the first episode of Sex Education and I really liked it.

They were riding bikes in it as well and I reckon I’ve rode up the same road an everything, apparently the college is in Newport.

I also have started Punisher series 2. One episode in, it feels like it's going to be Daredevil S1 quality, rather than Iron Fist S1. Claret everywhere.

I don't understand your references, but I'm with you on the ultraviolence.

Up to ep4 and it flags a little at that point due to a particular character I find very dull, hopefully it'll pick up again though.

I love Netflix. It is one of the things I have no objections to paying for.
And yet I still couldn't wait until Friday and 'somehow' managed to see Polar this morning. Blimey 4k on Friday is going to be epic!!! No spoilers.

If you liked Ex Machina or 28 days later try Annilhilation. Alex Garland.

I thought Buster Scruggs got better after the first one.

Disinchantment was fantastic

Watched Fences last week which was very good.
Inception is now on Netflix. I had never seen it. Watched it last night and thought it was an absolute class act of a film. I do like how Christopher Nolan messed with time lines in many of his films.

Watched Fyre the other night, really good doc about a fascinating event/crime.

Would have been easy to lay it on too thick but the filmmakers handled it just right IMO.

The punisher is losing me a bit now, plot gets a bit saggy and too much psychodrama.

Will see it to the end but probably best it's not likely to get another season.

I don't think any of them are being renewed, Disney is pulling them from Netflix I think, might come back when they launch their streaming service.

I'm not a fan of the double villain thing going on especially as they seem to be letting each other take turns.

Though I did read we are getting a 3rd series of Jessica Jones in the spring

Watched the Fyre Festival documentary at the weekend.

Great viewing and interesting how this guy went from looking like he was just in over his head to looking like a serial liar/fraudster who doesn't care about anyone else.
I'll be watching again.

Yep, enjoyed it. He was more of a psycho than I seemed to remember and gives a good view of what a mess cross state policing was back then without today's technology.

Steered well clear of Polar because I have rarely seen so many different damning reviews for a new film! It seemed to be very popular with a number of folk on here, though.

I've watched the first two and it is good, the problems with information overload and lack of communication between agencies and forces are very much like the issues faced in the search for the Yorkshire Ripper.

Watched Fyre last night and quickly realised I was going to find it hard to decide who was the most hateful... the fraudster, his brainless, money-obsessed lackeys, Ja Rule, the utterly vacuous 'social media influencers' he employed or the more-money-than-sense half-wits who fell for it.

In the end I was hoping for a massive tropical storm to kill them all

got bored halfway through 1st ep of Ted Bundy.

pleased to see The Office US has appeared over on Prime. had a run through of some of my faves last night! never gets old! "hmmm, sort of a oaky afterbirth..."

OK watched 4 nightflyers back to back. Little bit too heavy on the horror for me and rather confused storyline with everything and anything thrown in. Main male character rather mumbly and hard to understand at times but a bit of fun so will keep watching.

Been stuck in bed with a back injury, binge watched S2 of Counterpart and Russian Doll, which is a bit Groundhog Dayish, woman dies in an accident on her birthday but keeps coming back to life, reliving the birthday party, and then dying again in a different accident until she can figure out why it's happening. Gonna give Nightflyers a try next.
