have no real leanings either for or against religion and have my own beliefs but people who feel the need to 'test that faith' like this are clearly bonkers. More worrying is that the same thing had happened to his father......

Unfortunately not!
I guess this means there is no god??
*Disappointed. Was expecting more 18th century garden features.*

or that God loves a bit of irony?
Wolford was bitten in the thigh by a yellow rattlesnake as he sat on the floor next to it. The service was quickly disbanded as the pastor was taken to family member’s house to recover
Oh.
Dear.
Silly.

Perhaps this bit of that esteemed great book is just wrong then
And these signs will follow
those who believe...they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
Sadly these two deaths wont change the believers opinions * and obviously I should not be as intolerant as suggest that perhaps the deaths of their pastors suggests that the believers are deluded fools and that this is nuts and that there is no god. obviously they should be allowed to do this and also with their children, i mean its not like religion ever did any harm ...oh hold on a minute
* i am sure they can explain why god wanted the best or no one knows the ways of god etc.
so he was given 3 chances but still continued. Reminds me of that shipwrecked geezer waiting for god to help him, dunno if it's supposed to be a parable or a piss take.Wolford had been bitten on three previous occasions, but did not seek medical attention as he regarded the injury as a test of faith.
This reminds me - What happened to the end of the world pastor? Wasn't there another date ?
