Any reason not to buy that ?
Want a something for the missus to use when away on placement. Nothing fancy she wants to watch some preloaded DVDS , type the odd email and report and surf a bit of net in the bnb
played with the above in tesco and seems ideal - 10.1 inch screens are too small - want 11.6inches or bigger !
anything better ? doesnt need massive power ! anyone selling anything used on here ? portability is key
There is the Samsung NC20, but its £360 so quite a bit more.
Is run time important? Worth checking what it will be if so.
Netbooks will probably struggle with HD videos.
HD being hi def ? or hard drive ?
Run time not so important - she will be near electric.
The nc10 and 20 i know are best in class but really dont think she will benifit from them - at 360 id sooner buy her a standard 15 inch laptop ...
Hi Def.
Yeah I agree it is getting expensive.
My daughter has the 9" Aspire One and it has been fine.
Drop me a mail, I work in IT Sales I have some old stock Toshiba, Sony and Samsung kit that I could do for around £300
ygm clunker

Out of the office in the morning, will get some details over to you in the afternoon mate.
YGM Clunker!
NC10 has recently been replaced by the N110, which is basically identical with a better touchpad and longer battery life.
I've got one. It's quite nice. £320 from Dixons.
The NC10 can be had for the same price at the one above, is a bit faster but has the smaller 10.2" screen so maybe not right.

missus is too fussy - 10.2 inches isnt big enough for her (ooo errrr matron)
id love an nc10 - this current laptop is from pre university for me ...so thats 6 years old and the hdd is ****ed !
I have a smaller acer netbook than that (the aspire 'one' I think), which ebuyer was selling for £150 a few months back. I know you said 10 or so inches is too small but at half the price might be worth considering.
Has been superb thus far. You worry about the build quality of these really cheap netbooks but it's worked out great.
I too am on the look out for a laptop.
Something for firing presentations and essays together, a bit of surfing anatomy websites and also powerful enough to not drop the ball with memory map.
Any ideas?
Budget is not huge.
Apologies for the hijack.
Dell outlet store?

Recently picked up a 1545 for about £260...
N130 & N140 are better than the NC10 now, better touchpad, battery life and screen.
They have gone back to matte screens if you dont like the glossy screens on the N110 & N120.
Ive been researching this alot myself lately.
The N130 is good value at around £255, if you dont mind not having bluetooth, a mono speaker and 6 hour battery life.
Bought my missus the NC10 from Comet a few weeks ago for £249. She's impressed.
They have gone back to matte screens if you dont like the glossy screens on the N110 & N120.
Good. Hate the glossy screen on my Samsung R70; hope others do the same.
