The mortgage we're getting from Nationwide features 'free' conveyencing (doesn't incldue the searches, which are an additonal 400 quid).

Anyone used them? The last solicitors I used were ok, but very slow at doing anything (probably par for the course) - just wondered if anyone had any horror stories about Nationwide's offer?

We moved using Nationwides conveyancing solicitors although I think we paid for it, was about 4.5 years ago. They used Panonne (sp?) in Manchester. We had no problems, from agreeing a sale with a buyer to everyone moving was only 5 weeks.

It only took 8 weeks from our initial idea to move, putting the house on the market, arranging the mortgage, selling and moving! The good old days.

Cool - the only thing i'm worried about is that they may be even slower than a 'normal' solicitor. Sounds ok tho - cheers for the reply!

I had to keep the pressure on with the solicitor, think they would of taken longer if I never kept pestering. We also had no issues in the chain with money or property searches that could have held things up. Good luck 🙂

I work for them and have never heard any horror stories so you're quite safe!

I'm just about to take up a similar offer from Abbey, but not heard about the Nationwide one from my broker. If you don't mind me asking, what's your situation (first timer/remortgage etc., LTV).
