Looking to go to Nashville for my 40th. It's not til later on next year, but just wondered what else there is to do. I'll plan to to the bars and clubs for a few days then hire a car and do some sight seeing. Any suggestions?

I went a few times as a kid (had family there) don't remember much apart from driving up to Gatlinburg in the Smoky Mountains which was great!

Can you get to Gracelands ?? Dollywood ??

Assuming you already have some front row seats booked at Grand Ole Opry.

oddly enough don't really fancy Gracelands let alone Dollywood. Grand Ole Opry on my list for sure!

Many years ago I spent a weekend at Cedars of Lebanon State Park and went caving in Jackson Cave. The park is not far from Nashville and one of the highlights of my two years in the US (although I was in Ohio).

+1 for smoky mountains - used to MTB guide around the blue ridge mountains (NC; Pisgah & Du pont) and went over to Fontana Lake (Nantahala) & smoky mountains for long weekend camping/biking trips. Loads of trails (Tsali loops are really good), plus lots of other outdoor activities around there.
Enjoy!
