I've been off the bike for about 4 months with a knee injury. Anyway on returning to riding my bum hurts from the saddle. It was fine last time I used the bike back in the summer.
What happens to make the saddle less sore. Nerve damage? Muscle tone?
time in the saddle
You'll have a few weeks like this. Get some minty arse lard or stand up more.
If I haven't sat on a flite for a few months, the first 3 or 4 commutes are a bit uncomfortable. Just ride, it'll soon sort itself out...
Ooh ooh ooh! Am I too late to say "MTFU"??? ๐
I know it'll get easier. It's a Spesh Phenom saddle BTW.
What happens to make us adapt to sitting on the saddle?
I like the look of that, does it come in black?
This thread seems to be hanging around next to the one titled 'cheeky sexual encounter'

Pink's the new black
seriously guys, I'm interested to know what physiological change happens to stop it hurting?
Callouses
I don't know I think your muscles just become accustomed to the feeling, nerves get deadened, we'll have to do this nightly until the pain stops, you'll actually come to enjoy it.
edit - I said these threads were close together.
BTFU?
FUTB?
Bad, bad man.
Always hurts the first ride back-after a good ride your butt will hurt sometimes but after a day or 2 rest you will be fine.
Cavilon cream works a treat.
Can only imagine it's the muscles getting used to the pressure again.
Imagine how many new cyclists give up because of a sore backside?
Maybe all new bikes given to first-timers should come with a warning sticker - "A sore bum is not for life, just for Christmas".
