Head says Djokovic, heart says Murray.

Djokovic will finish him off very quickly today.

Murray is very unlucky, the current top 4 must be the strongest ever.

depends, Murray starts strong in a lot of games then flags in the 2nd set. however Djokovic is outstanding just now. Hope Murray does it.

At this moment in time Djokovic is unstoppable. His tennis is so good.

Yesterdays match from the 3rd set onwards was a masterclass from Murray in how to dig deep and keep fighting. I think it will go Djokovics way quite quickly today but considering who he is up against and playing on clay murray has shown that his game is where it should be to be top 2 or 3.

it's a shame, Murray was starting to charge before the rain last night, not sure he will have that this morning

Can't see past Djokovic myself, though I'll be delighted if Murray beats him. Putting Nadal out in straight sets is just scary...

Desperately hope Murray's improved game on clay is enough but I fear it won't be.

Oooo, two break points on Djokovic service, now one. He's not making it easy, and a break to serve for the 4th set.

You have to feel for murray a bit, to be merely a brilliant player at a time when his competitors are competing for the title of best of all time

Murray should be proud - he took the world #1 to 5 sets in the semis of a slam

That's pretty good for the third seed and what Henmam used to do. They both have to get past better players though (Djok and pistol Pete) no shame in that

Please THM, put your anti scots agenda aside. To compare Andy Murray to 'Tim' is beyond the pale, even for you. Henman was a very good player, one who I always wanted to see winning a slam, but Murray is a level above.

Yes he is agreed. So you first point seems BS to me.

The parallel as noted is simply that they come up against better players at the worng time, if you want to read anymore into that then that's your problem.

What i admire most about Murray is that a few years a go he was much less of an all round package. Yep he had the raw talent but he has worked hard through so many problems physically and with his game. To have matured in the media spotlight when it does not come naturally to him at all. I do find it really sad that so many people love to get hung up on a few comments that were made in poor judgement to a press that were eager to jump on his comments and either twist or spin them in a certain way and not focus on the fact that he is by far the best tennis player we have had in a very long time.

It will take a good while before we get another british tennis player of his caliber. Hopefully he can figure out a way to get Djokovic in a few more slams 🙂

Agree with that mac. To be fair to Djokovic though, he's worked so hard to get where he is too. IIRC his tp transformation from top 4 to his lofty heights now was around the same time that he discovered he had a gluten intolerance. Dropped half a stone and also had huge energy benefits.

Wawrinka has come on hugely recently too, will be a tough match.

He does need an kit advisor though, he has the choice of the best tennis clothing in the world and normally ends up looking like a tramp 😉 Although Boris looked like he had been to sports direct for his wardrobe.

C'mon [s]Tim[/s] Kim, sort his clothes out!!

Wawrinka possibly overtaken the Fed for the best backhand in tennis. A thing of beauty not a double handed sledgehammer.

It's always the same old story, poor old x, being born into the strongest field of all-time.

Novak was crying about this ten years ago and look where he is now.

Murray is a hugely talented player and certainly has a chance to grab a few more slams, but he is never going to be one of the greats, due to his lack of mental toughness (compared to Roger, Rafa etc) and temperament.

I'd say he is as talented as Novak, but hasn't managed to fulfil his talent to the same extent.

Possibly overtaken fed? Wawrinkas backhand is considerably better than Federers. It is his best shot and he can hit an inside out backhand like no other single hander.

A thing of sheer beauty. He is in the running for the greatest single hander of all-time.

Kudos, i don't think many people are saying "poor old andy, look who you are up against" it is just a fact that at this point in time there are 3 of the best players of all time in the game. You deal with the hand you are dealt and i think he dealing with it really well.

Fair one on his mentality, he has always needed that level guiding hand to reign in his wayward temperament.

I would love to know who is going to step up in the next 5 years to be the top players. There is so much talent out there at the moment.

Possibly not as graceful as RF, but possibly more of a weapon.

True, although the same thing tends to happen in every era. You get a few players who dominate (Borg and Connors, Sampras and Agassi, Fed and Rafa) and then the number 3-5 players fighting for the scraps left over.

It is a bit gutting for Murray that now Roger and Rafa are fading, he is being smashed to bits by Djokovic and can't seem to beat him often. It's a shame as I think he is as talented.

At least Murray has a chance of winning on every surface, Henman only had a chance at Wimbledon and he was up against Sampras who is possibly the Grass court GOAT.

Well done Stan, won with a backhand. How appropriate!
