suggesting that the common internet acronym mtfu

What language are you speaking that makes mtfu an acronym? ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

In English it is an initialism.

An acronym is a pronounceable word made up of initial letters: RADAR, LASER, WAAF, DINKY, YUPPIE, AWOL, HILO, HIHO,

Initial letters that aren't pronounceable (and therefore said as individual letters) aren't acronyms but initialisms (despite what foreign web users thought went they invented TLAs): RAC, LOL, LMAO, WTF, SLR, DSLR, RTFM, etc.

I can pronounce lol, I've been saying "lol" in my head when I read it. Has everyone else been reading it l.o.l.? How embarrassing.

Also i'm confused as to the point of this thread, there seems to be very little pornographic content. That is unless you have extremely niche tastes relating to acronyms.

Whenever I read MTFU my immediate thought is "FTFO, you self-righteous prick", so not fussed either way really.

I was in the same room as a bloke who kept saying "DILIGAF" as a word.
I so wanted to punch him.

The trouble with MTFU as a piece of advice is that taking it can open up wonderful new horizons or it can kill you dead.

The trick is knowing when to MTFU and when to FTFAGOD (F*** That For A Game Of Darts).

TBH I'm still working on that.

Anyone who objects to MTFU is soft.

You need to stop blubbing and get on with it.

If only there was some sort of catchy phrase we could use to impart that sort of information.
