I'm making my wedding invites, got three bits of paper, each progressively larger. Using MS Word, just text.

14x10, 15x11, 16x12cms.

14x10 prints fine via the small photo tray, 15x11 too big for the tray but prints fine from the main tray. 16x12 won't cooperate. The printer cancels as the paper is too small (tried it both portrait and landscape). It will print on an A4 page which is fine as I can trim it down afterwards. But it insists on printing the text halfway down the short edge of the paper, as if I have a big margin at the top, even though I have left the vertical alignment in page setup to 'top'.

I've started afresh and retyped everything in case there is a setting I'd changed by mistake but it still won't play ball.

What have I done wrong!? I've been struggling to fix this bit since yesterday evening!

I've set the paper size in page setup on word. Although the printer is quite a clever photo printer with LCD etc I don't think you can set the paper size, it shines a light off the carriage and checks the size before it prints. But it seems to want to print in the centre of the page, so the correctly sized bit of paper isn't wide enough.

I think you will have to look at the printer preferences esp custom paper size and or auto center. Have you set the correct paper size in page setup in word ? if not it will cause allsorts of problems
