Watching Con-Air again this evening for the 'n'th time, I was struck by the sheer preposterousness of the death of Cyrus The Virus:

Thrown off the ladder of a speeding firetruck, through a glass bridge thing, and lands head-first at the base of a conveniently-placed pile driver.

Preposterous. Yes, willing suspension of disbelief and all that, but really??

Anything better out there?

There's the melodramatic staking in the Buffy tVS movie? Spent about five minutes chewing the scenery before expiring.

I don't think I can beat Con Air but True Lies must be up there. Fighting on a Harrier Jet, falls onto the missile and gets fired through a building into a baddie helicopter.

Though of another in the "great baddie, stupid death" series:

End of thread.

In a similar vein, Jabba the Hut, biggest feared gangster in the galaxy slowly strangled to death by a lady in a bikini.

Simple but effective

Slightly drawn out and appalling you tube of a telly screen

Have we done the Mission: Impossible helicopter attached tot he train by a wire but still flying in the Channel Tunnel death scene yet? Truly unbelievable.

As for the Blade Runner death, that's just brilliant and just another reason why it's an amazing film.
