Caution Mountain bike riders!!!
Riding in the forest at the weekend I came across what I can only describe as a man trap. Someone had positioned wooden stakes on the landing of a blind jump. I miraculously avoided injury and broke the structure down immediately but whoever did this is still out there. Its' more important than ever to walk that trail before launching yourself into spikes.

You should EDIT that URL to http://www.perlierides.co.uk/mountain-bike-trap-dangerous-obstacals-bike-trails-multiple-locations/ , I think

[MOD EDIT: amended accordingly, ta.]

I know right! I will try and post a map of the spots I've found things over the years. recently I've only seen two traps. Both around the loughton camp area. Scariest of all was up at the top of 'Collar bone' if you know it by name. I am in two minds about broadcasting the issue outside the riding community for fear of other twerps building copy cat traps.
