M11 bad south of Cambridge (closed due to vehicle fire) but may be open again by the time you need to make decisions about M1/M25. I'd stay on the A1 if I was you.

We made it with tons of time to spare. Thanks for the stressless route advice. There was just the one hiccup on the M11

The ferry company have put us on an earlier sailing at no extra cost.

The wedding is at Dick Strawbridge’s howf, I think he’ll approve of sandals at the chateau

We still have another four hundred miles to go to get to my siste’s place in the Creuse. I’ll get some kip, the French roads are almost deserted at night so it shouldn’t be too bad

The V70 clicked over 190,000 miles on the way down

"I’ll get some kip, the French roads are almost deserted at night so it shouldn’t be too bad" - multi-tasking!

We (I) did warn him about the M11. What with all the spare time you had you could've had an hour at Duxford!

When you get to the wedding, can you let us know if the house has a drawbridge??

Dick Strawbridge

Isnt he the shouty one on Scrapheap ?

Doubt he’ll notice what you are wearing, he seems like a jolly good wheeze.

Dont forget the French drive on the left..

Not that shouty, but has a superb moustache.

By the way, have we had an update on the French side of the trip yet? Di McM survive the 'deserted' French roads, or was he left weeping on the shoulder as the suspension collapsed?

We made it to the Creuse without any drama. Paris at 3am was a breeze.

I stopped off at a favourite patisserie for some goodies for breakfast and lunch

Current kitchen step temp is 30C, I can barely stand up in it. Chapeau to the Tour riders
