My old 1978 gl1000. Ignition switch was buggered and not working so got a new one for £25happy days. Fitted it this morning, connected it all up, turned it on, lights, camera and no action, starter button doing nothing..tried the kick start and it fired up...any ideas?

Does that come with pictures??!! 😂 I know nothing about motorbikes, I will look it up in my Haynes.... I expect I should check fuses too?

Ok, I think it's that thing near the battery? I'll have a rumage with the wires.

If it were the main fuse you wouldn't get lights, if it were the starter you'd get noises.

Relay
https://www.motoelectrical.co.uk/types/solenoids-relays/starter-relay-solenoid-honda-1969-2007-trx-300400-ex-c70-cb360750-gl1000-kawasaki-1973-1983-kz1000-kz900/?gclid=Cj0KCQjwkruVBhCHARIsACVIiOw4xeNzi1oEkoTzBVL726CcB9APHz5Yc-kB6wjG1kdAuK_VnrYvz3YaApMhEALw_wcB

Find that. Turn ignition on, use a pair of pliers and put on each terminal to bypass

Note, there will be sparks!

I have given up to bask in father's Day stuff...actually I went for a mtb ride with son, it was during that I remembered the kick start handle in the dummy tank!
