Games that distract you from work don't count (drying paint could do the same for many people) games that cause serious sleep deprivation are the real addictive stuff. Mind you it's been a while since I switched off the PC/console when it got light again outside.

For me, the Civilization series of games have been the most addictive. The "one more turn" impulse has kept me up long past a sensible hour for bed on many nights.

I've heavily modified it though, and the game is more fun to play now.
Did a 16 hour stint last weekend and ended up having the DC ruins turn into a warzone between Space Marines, Supermutants and Talon Company mercs.

Oh god yes, I remember many very late nights playing that. Bizarre when you think about it, it was such a clunky game. Civilization too.
The latest one though is flight control for sure for me. I'm crap at it but just one more go.....
