This time with pictures 😀

So I was looking in this draw at the weekend. It was full of my Dad's stuff and I found this box....

and inside the box was this....

Any of you guys ever used one? It's not sharp enough to shave with but it trimmed the hairs from the back of my hand quite easily 8)

If I can find a cheap enough Whetstone I'm going to sharpen it up and have a go at shaving with it.

Im guessing you'll want a strop to get it properly sharp.

If it's not been used or honed for years, and you actually want to use it, you could always get it sorted professionally

Then you can keep on top of it with a strop once it's been sorted properly.

I am not surprised those two have strops tbh 😉

I think I'm a way off needing a strop just yet - and I only had one yesterday 😆

I've given it a quick sharpen on my finest oil stone which is about 1000 grit. I've done a little bit of research and I think I need a 3000+ grit Whetstone to get it sharp enough to shave with.

Any advice on Whetstones? Where should I look for a reasonable priced one?
